Mission Statement

Embracing the Gospel charge of loving our neighbor as ourselves, our mission is “to support families to stay together; empower families to be economically and socially secure through the WORD and compassion of Christ,” in partnership with a network of grassroots groups, irrespective of ethnic/national origin, faith beliefs, gender, age or race.

Based on what we found, we started KEEPING FAMILIES TOGETHER (KFT) that;
1. Makes sure families remain together at all times;
2. Assist families pursue the American Dream without losing sight of GOD:
3. Support families to become financially and socially secure.

As a congregation we also focus on healthy, supportive and vibrant families staying together to achieve their American Dreams. We believe that families that play, pray, live and work together serve themselves and society better. They make for a socially and economically secure society.

Our family ministry is geared towards working with families, social services and community groups in ensuring that the support families need to stay together is made available, as and when needed. We advocate with agencies to cut red-tapes and make services available to families that need their services. We point families to where they can get the assistance they need before it is an emergency.

We provide families the space to bond through social activities without hurting their dignity. For example, we raise funds for families to attend a picnic that they would not be able to afford on their own, or see a movie but at a very subsidized rate and on a sliding scale, based on their income and what they are able to voluntarily contribute. Then we share experiences that empower them to remain a family.

OUR OBBJECTIVES

To support families to stay together at all times and pursue their American Dream without losing sight of GOD.

Immigration Counselling & Processing

Assist immigrant families with Immigration Counselling & Processing. Most immigrants wait till the last possible moment before taking action on their immigration status, some very late, when they have slipped into “out of status”. With counselling, we hope to reduce these and keep them legal all the time.

Social Services Advisories

Provide families with Social Services Advisories. This is to help families know what they are entitled to and what obtains within the system that they can legally access while they remain in “legal immigration status”. There’s no help once the law is broken.

Work Readiness/Development

Assist families to enter workforce through Work Readiness/Development. Most immigrants with overseas qualifications are not aware that they need evaluate their credentials or get some further certification before they can be considered for some employment. This service will address this situation.
